Madhya Pradesh Unveils Ambitious MSME Roadmap to Boost Entrepreneurship by 2047

Madhya Pradesh has announced a comprehensive and forward-looking roadmap to strengthen its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem, aiming to position the state as a major hub of entrepreneurship and industrial growth by 2047. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed India by the centenary year of independence.

The roadmap was unveiled by Madhya Pradesh Minister for MSME, Chetanya Kumar Kashyap, during an address at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, where he highlighted the state government’s achievements over the past two years and outlined key initiatives planned for the next phase of development.

Vision for Enterprise-Led Growth

Addressing industry stakeholders, entrepreneurs and officials, the minister emphasised that MSMEs will play a central role in driving economic growth, employment generation and innovation in Madhya Pradesh. The government’s long-term strategy focuses on building a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports businesses from grassroots enterprises to high-growth startups.

The roadmap reflects the state’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, ensuring that industrial growth reaches both urban centres and underserved regions.

Major Incentives and Industrial Expansion

One of the key highlights of the roadmap is the announcement of incentives worth ₹5,000 crore to support MSMEs over the coming years. These incentives are expected to encourage investment, expansion and modernisation across sectors.

The state government has also approved the development of 30 new private industrial clusters, which will provide dedicated spaces for manufacturing and service-based enterprises. To further strengthen industrial infrastructure, more than 6,000 industrial plots will be made available to entrepreneurs.

In addition, Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) will be established in 100 industrial areas to promote environmentally sustainable industrial practices. Industrial zones will also be developed in 81 constituencies that currently lack such facilities, ensuring balanced regional growth.

Strengthening MSME Infrastructure

The roadmap places strong emphasis on shared infrastructure and productivity enhancement. The establishment of 22 Common Facility Centres (CFCs) will provide MSMEs with access to advanced machinery, testing facilities and skill development resources.

These centres are expected to reduce operational costs for small businesses, improve product quality and enhance competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

Boost to Startups and Innovation

Madhya Pradesh is also set to significantly expand its startup ecosystem. The number of startups in the state is planned to double from 6,000 to 12,000 in the coming years. To support this growth, the government will establish 100 incubation centres across the state, providing mentoring, infrastructure and access to funding.

To promote grassroots entrepreneurship, around 1.5 lakh self-help groups will be formalised through a dedicated enterprise portal. This initiative aims to integrate informal enterprises into the formal economy, enabling better access to credit, markets and government schemes.

Support for Entrepreneurs and Local Identity

As part of its inclusive approach, the state will launch subsidised co-working spaces in major cities such as Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain. These spaces will support startups, freelancers and small enterprises by offering affordable, collaborative work environments.

The government also plans to register 20 Geographical Indication (GI) products, helping protect and promote the state’s unique local products and traditional industries. Additionally, self-employment scheme benefits will be extended to nearly 30,000 entrepreneurs, further encouraging business creation and self-reliance.

Roadmap Towards 2047

According to Minister Chetanya Kumar Kashyap, the MSME roadmap is designed to create a strong foundation for long-term economic growth. By focusing on infrastructure, innovation, sustainability and inclusivity, the state aims to generate large-scale employment and establish Madhya Pradesh as a preferred destination for enterprise-led development.

With these initiatives, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself to play a significant role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, driven by a resilient and future-ready MSME sector.
