Foxconn leadership meets CM Stalin, to invest ₹15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu

In a major boost to India’s electronics and advanced manufacturing landscape, global electronics giant Foxconn has announced a massive ₹15,000-crore investment in Tamil Nadu, accompanied by the creation of 14,000 new engineering jobs. The announcement came following a high-level meeting between a Foxconn delegation and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Strengthening Foxconn–Tamil Nadu Partnership

The delegation, led by Mr. Robert Wu, India representative and senior global executive of Foxconn, met with Chief Minister Stalin, Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa, and other senior state officials. The meeting underscored Foxconn’s continued commitment to Tamil Nadu, which has already established itself as a global hub for high-value manufacturing, exports, and engineering innovation.

According to an official release, the new investment signifies Foxconn’s next phase of strategic engagement with Tamil Nadu, focusing on emerging technology manufacturing, R&D integration, and AI-led advanced operations.

Launch of India’s First Foxconn Desk

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the announcement of India’s first-ever Foxconn Desk, to be established at Guidance Tamil Nadu  the State’s nodal agency for investment promotion.
The Foxconn Desk will serve as a dedicated channel for faster coordination, investor facilitation, and mission-mode engagement between Foxconn and the Tamil Nadu government across multiple projects.

Job Creation and Skill Development

Foxconn’s ₹15,000-crore investment will create 14,000 high-value engineering jobs, particularly aimed at young graduates and skilled professionals. This initiative highlights the company’s shift towards value-added, technology-driven manufacturing and deepens its integration into India’s talent ecosystem.

Foxconn’s Confidence in Tamil Nadu’s Governance

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Robert Wu expressed Foxconn’s strong confidence in Tamil Nadu’s governance model, proactive industrial policies, and world-class talent pool under Chief Minister Stalin’s leadership.
He also highlighted the State’s robust infrastructure, ease of doing business, and future-focused policies, which make Tamil Nadu a preferred destination for Foxconn’s next growth phase, including ventures into battery technologies and AI-enabled manufacturing systems.

Tamil Nadu’s Vision for Global Leadership

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed Foxconn’s continued expansion and assured full state support through single-window facilitation, talent development partnerships, and dedicated executive coordination via the new Foxconn Desk.
He reaffirmed the government’s vision of making Tamil Nadu a global powerhouse in electronics, advanced manufacturing, and innovation, seamlessly integrated into international value chains.

“Thank you Foxconn for choosing Tamil Nadu and shaping the future with us. This marks another milestone in our journey to make Tamil Nadu the manufacturing and innovation hub of South Asia,” Mr. Stalin posted on X.

Industry Minister T.R.B. Rajaa added that Foxconn’s next phase will focus on value-added manufacturing, R&D integration, and AI-led technological operations, reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s leadership in the global supply chain ecosystem.
