According to Mugdha Pradhan, functional nutritionist and founder of iThrive, a Pune-based wellness platform, many chronic conditions she treats are rooted in simple yet overlooked vitamin deficiencies.

“I’ve worked with hundreds of individuals with deep-rooted issues, and more often than not, the real problem turned out to be a missing vitamin or two,” says Mugdha.

So, what are these early warning signs? Here’s a breakdown of symptoms you shouldn't ignore:


1. Constant Fatigue Despite Rest

If you're getting enough sleep but still feel drained, you might be lacking B-complex vitamins—especially B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12. These nutrients play a critical role in energy metabolism. Without them, your body struggles to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy currency of your cells, leaving you chronically tired.


2. Frequent Illnesses and Low Immunity

Do you catch colds or infections more often than others? Low levels of Vitamin C and Vitamin D might be to blame. Vitamin C enhances immune cell function, while Vitamin D helps regulate immune responses. Thanks to limited sun exposure and poor dietary habits, these deficiencies are increasingly common—and dangerous if left unchecked.


3. Excessive Hair Fall or Thinning

If your hairbrush seems to be gathering more strands than usual, you might be low in Biotin (Vitamin B7). Biotin is crucial for hair strength and growth, and a deficiency—often combined with low levels of other B vitamins—can weaken hair roots, leading to visible thinning and breakage.
