23rd Edition of Bharat Telecom 2025 inaugurated

The Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) inaugurated the 23rd edition of Bharat Telecom 2025, a prestigious global buyer-seller meet, alongside the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) in New Delhi. The event brought together over 70 international delegates from more than 30 countries and 60 leading Indian telecom companies, all showcasing cutting-edge products and innovations at the Atmanirbhar Bharat Pavilion.

India’s Telecom Evolution: From Assembly to Innovation

While inaugurating the event, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Union Minister of State for Communications, highlighted India’s remarkable transformation from being a nation that merely assembled telecom products to one now recognised for design, development, and innovation.
He said, “India is moving from merely assembling products to one recognised for design, development, and innovation. Our focus is to create opportunities for all service providers and exporters by ensuring access to new markets and strengthening the ecosystem of innovation and manufacturing.”

Dr. Pemmasani emphasised the government’s commitment to positioning India as a trusted global technology and telecom partner. He cited landmark initiatives such as the National Digital Communications Policy and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, which are attracting large-scale investments in telecom manufacturing and exports.

A Platform for Global Collaboration

The Minister described Bharat Telecom 2025 as a powerful platform enabling collaboration between global investors, technology providers, and Indian enterprises. He encouraged partnerships across manufacturing, system integration, software development, and service delivery, fostering innovation and expanding market access worldwide.

India’s telecom ecosystem, he noted, aligns closely with emerging global trends such as satellite communications, rural connectivity solutions, and AI-driven applications supporting governance, agriculture, and education. “India stands ready to partner with the world   to innovate, to export, and to create technologies that make a global impact,” he reaffirmed.

Industry Leaders on India’s Telecom Transformation

Shri Ashok Kumar Jain, Deputy Director General, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), said, “India’s telecom sector is witnessing a significant transformation   evolving from a nation primarily known for device assembly to a hub for design, development, and technology exports. This shift reflects the country’s deep commitment to building a robust ecosystem that supports innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.”

He reiterated India’s vision to build strong global partnerships and expand its innovation footprint, ensuring inclusive growth at both domestic and international levels.

Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Vice Chairman, TEPC, praised the government’s enabling policies, stating, “Initiatives such as the National Digital Communications Policy and the PLI Scheme continue to strengthen domestic manufacturing, enhance export potential, and promote ease of doing business. These measures create an environment where both domestic and international players can thrive and contribute to a connected global economy.”

He also pointed to emerging areas of collaboration, including satellite communications, rural digital infrastructure, and AI-based solutions aimed at driving development across Asia and Africa.

Strengthening Global Partnerships for the Future

In his closing remarks, Shri Sanjeev Aggarwal, Past Chairman, TEPC, described India’s telecom sector as a driving force behind a new era of transformation led by innovation, design, and collaboration. He highlighted India’s legacy of partnership and knowledge-sharing with developing nations and its commitment to maintaining a transparent, trustworthy, and non-interfering approach to global technology partnerships.

He encouraged international delegates to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities with India, saying, “Communication is one of the most powerful tools for progress, and by working together, we can create shared prosperity and technological advancement for all.”

Conclusion

The 23rd edition of Bharat Telecom 2025 concluded with a strong message of collaboration, innovation, and global partnership. As India cements its position as a global hub for telecom design, manufacturing, and technology exports, the nation continues to inspire confidence as a leader in building the future of connected economies.
