Uttar Pradesh flags off Bharat Electronics Yatra, reinforces role as electronics manufacturing hub
Introduction
Uttar Pradesh has taken another decisive step towards strengthening its position as one of India’s fastest-growing electronics manufacturing destinations by flagging off the Bharat Electronics Yatra. This nationwide industry and buyer outreach initiative reflects the state’s growing importance in India’s electronics value chain and its commitment to building a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.
Bharat Electronics Yatra: A Strategic Industry Initiative
The Bharat Electronics Yatra is envisioned by electronica India and productronica India and organised by Messe Muenchen India. Designed as a structured buyer-connect and industry outreach programme, the yatra aims to engage OEMs, EMS companies, system integrators, and key electronics buyer clusters across the country. Its primary focus is on strengthening demand–supply linkages and enhancing business opportunities across the electronics manufacturing value chain.
Government Support and Policy Commitment
The yatra was flagged off by Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Uttar Pradesh. The initiative highlights the state government’s strong commitment to building a robust electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Uttar Pradesh continues to focus on strengthening supply chains, promoting regional industry participation, and supporting manufacturers through progressive policies, strong industrial infrastructure, and the development of electronics manufacturing clusters to attract investments at every level.
Uttar Pradesh as Host State for electronica India 2026
Further reinforcing its leadership role, Uttar Pradesh will serve as the Host State for the April 2026 editions of electronica India and productronica India. The exhibitions will be held at India Expo Mart (IEML), Greater Noida, from April 8 to 10, 2026. Planned on an expanded scale, the event has already received strong industry response, with more than 300 exhibitors confirmed, underlining growing confidence in the state’s electronics ecosystem.
Nationwide Outreach and Regional Focus
The Bharat Electronics Yatra will begin with a North India phase covering Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi–NCR region. This will be followed by subsequent phases across western and southern India throughout 2026, culminating at the Bengaluru edition in September 2026. The phased rollout ensures deeper engagement with regional electronics clusters and helps align industry needs with market demand.
Industry Voices on the Yatra
Speaking at the flag-off, Sunil Kumar Sharma stated that Uttar Pradesh is committed to building a strong and future-ready electronics manufacturing ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of platforms that bring together government, industry, and market demand.
Bhupinder Singh, President IMEA, Messe Muenchen and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, noted that electronica India and productronica India mirror India’s electronics growth story, with the yatra enabling direct engagement with regional buyers and manufacturers.
Rajoo Goel, Secretary General of ELCINA, highlighted that electronics manufacturing growth is increasingly being driven by regional clusters beyond traditional hubs, and the yatra strengthens buyer–supplier linkages and domestic component manufacturing.
Rajesh Sharma, Executive Director and Principal Advisor at the India Cellular & Electronics Association, added that India’s electronics scale-up is a critical step in nation building, where innovation, manufacturing, and inclusive growth converge.
Conclusion
With the launch of the Bharat Electronics Yatra and its role as host for major international exhibitions in 2026, Uttar Pradesh is clearly positioning itself as a leading electronics manufacturing hub in India. The initiative not only strengthens regional industry participation but also aligns policy, infrastructure, and market demand, setting the stage for sustained growth in the electronics manufacturing sector.
