TCI Expands Cold Chain Footprint with New Facility in Gurugram

Transport Corporation of India (TCI) has announced a major expansion of its cold chain warehousing operations with the launch of a new large-scale facility in Gurugram, Haryana. This move strengthens TCI’s presence in North India and supports the growing demand for temperature-controlled logistics across multiple fast-moving and regulated industries.

New Cold Chain Facility at Taj Nagar
The newly added warehouse spans approximately 1.5 lakh square feet and is located at Taj Nagar, a rapidly developing logistics corridor in Haryana. Designed for high-throughput operations, the facility caters to sectors such as quick commerce, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, dairy, meat and poultry, beauty, and life sciences.

Multi-Temperature Storage Capabilities
The Gurugram facility offers advanced multi-temperature storage solutions, including frozen, chilled, and air-conditioned zones. This flexibility allows businesses with diverse cold chain requirements to manage inventory efficiently under one roof, ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Flexible Pay-As-You-Use Model
To meet evolving customer needs, the warehouse operates on a pay-as-you-use commercial model. This approach provides scalability and cost efficiency, enabling companies to align storage and distribution costs directly with demand fluctuations, especially in high-growth sectors like quick commerce.

Joint Venture Operations
The facility will be operated by TCI Cold Chain Solutions Ltd, a joint venture between Transport Corporation of India and Japan-based Mitsui & Co Ltd. TCI holds an 80 per cent stake in the venture, while Mitsui owns the remaining 20 per cent, combining local logistics expertise with global operational standards.
