Sony WH-1000XM6 noise cancellation headphones launched in India: Price and features

Sony has once again raised the bar in premium audio with the launch of its flagship WH-1000XM6 noise cancellation headphones in India. Introduced on September 29, 2025, the WH-1000XM6 is the successor to the WH-1000XM5 (launched in 2022) and brings a host of advanced features powered by AI, making it Sony’s most intelligent headphones yet.

AI-Powered Noise Cancellation and Microphones

For the first time, Sony has integrated AI noise reduction and AI beamforming microphones into its headphones. Equipped with 12 microphones and the new QN3 chip, the WH-1000XM6 offers enhanced adaptive noise cancellation, optimising performance in real time depending on the user’s surroundings.

Next-Level Audio Experience

The WH-1000XM6 supports 360 Spatial Audio and DSEE Extreme upscaling technology, which uses Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) to intelligently switch between upscaling vocals and percussion instruments. With support for High-Resolution Audio and LDAC wireless audio, listeners can expect studio-quality sound, whether wired or wireless.

Smarter Controls and Features

Sony has expanded the equaliser from 5 bands to 10 bands, giving users finer control over their sound preferences. A new Background Music Effect has also been added to help users stay focused.

For connectivity, the WH-1000XM6 supports dual Bluetooth connections, making it easy to switch between two devices, along with Swift Pair support for Windows devices. The headphones also feature both touch and button controls for power and ANC, as well as head gesture recognition for accepting or rejecting calls.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery life remains a strong point, with up to 30 hours of playback with ANC on and up to 40 hours without ANC. A major improvement is the ability to use the headphones even while charging, a feature missing in previous generations.

Colours and Pricing

The Sony WH-1000XM6 is available in three stylish colours: Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue. Priced at ₹39,990, the headphones are available starting today across Sony retail outlets, online platforms, and major electronic stores in India.

Conclusion

With its AI-powered noise cancellation, intelligent audio enhancements, and longer battery life, the Sony WH-1000XM6 positions itself as one of the most advanced premium headphones available in India. For audiophiles and frequent travellers, it promises an unmatched listening experience while keeping up with the demands of modern connectivity.
