A Major Milestone in Port Safety Standards

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has successfully secured the prestigious ISO 45001:2018 certification, reaffirming its strong commitment to maintaining global standards in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) across all port operations. This recognition positions PPA among leading ports that prioritize workforce safety, risk management, and sustainable operational practices.

The ISO 45001:2018 certification is an internationally recognized standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). It ensures that organizations systematically manage risks, enhance employee well-being, and maintain a safe working environment.

Certification Details and Accreditation

The certification has been issued by Quality Austria Central Asia Pvt. Ltd. (Cert. No. IND/OHSMS/2026/E-19) and is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB).

This accreditation ensures that the certification process meets rigorous evaluation standards and complies with international benchmarks. It reflects a transparent and credible assessment of PPA’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

The ISO 45001:2018 certificate will remain valid until 17 February 2029, subject to periodic surveillance audits and continuous compliance with evolving safety standards.

  • Promoting continuous improvement

The accomplishment highlights the collective efforts of PPA’s management and workforce in fostering a strong safety culture while maintaining operational excellence at one of India’s key gateway ports.
