The event was organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations Eastern Region in association with the Department of MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal. The initiative reflects a strong commitment to enhancing global trade opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises from the state.

The RBSM Kolkata was inaugurated in the presence of key dignitaries who play a vital role in shaping MSME and export policies. The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister in Charge of the Department of MSME & Textiles, Chandranath Sinha, along with Rajesh Pandey, Additional Chief Secretary, and U Swaroop, Director, Department of MSME.

A Platform for Global B2B Engagement
The core objective of the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet is to create a focused and result-oriented platform for global B2B interactions. By bringing international buyers directly to local exporters, the meet enables MSMEs from West Bengal to showcase their capabilities, products, and services to global markets. This direct engagement model helps reduce entry barriers, shortens negotiation cycles, and builds trust between buyers and sellers.

Empowering MSMEs to Explore New Markets
The RBSM is designed to help MSMEs and exporters explore new international markets, diversify their customer base, and expand business networks beyond traditional trade partners. Through structured meetings and networking sessions, participants gain valuable insights into global demand trends, quality expectations, and compliance requirements, which are essential for sustainable export growth.

Strengthening Trade and Economic Growth
FIEO Eastern Region highlighted that initiatives like the RBSM play a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs. By enabling access to export opportunities, the meet supports increased foreign trade, higher revenues, and improved global visibility for West Bengal’s enterprises. In the long run, this contributes significantly to the state’s economic growth and employment generation.

Conclusion
The Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet in Kolkata stands as a strategic step toward integrating MSMEs into global value chains. With strong institutional support, active participation from industry leaders, and a clear focus on international trade, the event reinforces West Bengal’s position as an emerging hub for MSME-led exports and global business collaboration.
