JM Baxi Paradip Terminal Records Highest Single-Day Cargo Handling

JM Baxi Paradip Terminal Records Highest Single-Day Cargo Handling

India’s maritime logistics sector continues to witness remarkable operational achievements, and the Multipurpose Clean Cargo Terminal at Paradip Port, operated by the JM Baxi Group, has added another milestone to this progress. The terminal recently achieved its highest-ever single-day cargo handling performance, demonstrating improved efficiency, coordination, and logistics capabilities.

Record-Breaking Cargo Throughput

On February 3, 2026, the terminal handled an impressive 37,783 metric tonnes of cargo in a single day, setting a new operational benchmark for the facility. The cargo consisted primarily of steel slabs and fertilizer, two commodities that require careful handling and efficient logistics coordination.

This record marks a significant step forward for the multipurpose terminal located at Paradip Port, one of India’s important maritime gateways for bulk and multipurpose cargo.

Vessel Operations Set New Benchmark

A major contributor to the achievement was the discharge operation from the vessel MV GH Glory, which alone handled 20,600 metric tonnes of cargo during the day.

This figure surpassed the previous single-day discharge record of 17,716 metric tonnes, which had been set during operations involving the vessel MV African Baza.

The improved discharge performance highlights the terminal’s ability to manage large cargo volumes efficiently while maintaining operational safety and speed.

Operational Efficiency and Strong Coordination

The record performance reflects the high level of operational efficiency and coordination among various stakeholders involved in port operations. Efficient planning, seamless cargo movement, and real-time coordination between vessel operators, terminal staff, and logistics partners played a critical role in achieving this milestone.

The JM Baxi operational teams demonstrated strong commitment and dedication, ensuring that all processes from vessel berthing to cargo handling and dispatch were executed smoothly.

Strengthening India’s Maritime Logistics

The achievement also highlights the growing role of private terminal operators in improving productivity and operational standards across India’s port ecosystem. By leveraging advanced handling techniques, skilled manpower, and streamlined processes, the terminal continues to enhance cargo throughput at Paradip.

Such milestones contribute to strengthening India’s maritime trade infrastructure, ensuring faster cargo movement and supporting industries that depend on efficient port logistics.

Collaboration with Trade Community

The company acknowledged the continued support of its partners and the wider trade community, emphasizing that collaboration is essential to achieving operational excellence. Cooperation among shipping lines, cargo owners, port authorities, and logistics providers has been instrumental in driving productivity improvements at the terminal.

Looking Ahead

With this new benchmark in place, the JM Baxi Paradip terminal is expected to continue improving cargo handling capacity and operational efficiency. The record-breaking performance not only demonstrates the terminal’s current capabilities but also signals its potential to handle even larger cargo volumes in the future.

As India’s maritime sector grows, achievements like this will play an important role in strengthening supply chains, improving port productivity, and supporting the country’s expanding trade network.
