Adani Ports & SEZ commissions key rail infrastructure at Mundra, marks first rake movement
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its rail-linked logistics ecosystem at Mundra with the successful commissioning of Bundle–II, Line 1 under the South Port Rail (SPR) development. This milestone marks a major advancement in the company’s continued efforts to strengthen integrated, multimodal connectivity at India’s largest commercial port.
Milestone Moment: First Rake THAR-106 Rolls Out
The newly completed infrastructure became operational with the departure of the first rake, THAR-106, from the SND yard. This inaugural movement officially marks the start of train operations on the upgraded rail network, setting the stage for improved cargo handling and faster turnaround times.
Boosting Rail Capacity & Enhancing Connectivity
According to APSEZ, the commissioning of this upgraded section significantly improves the port’s operational readiness. By expanding rail handling capacity and strengthening internal connectivity, the development supports the growing cargo volumes handled at Mundra. As trade demand continues to rise, the enhanced rail infrastructure is expected to improve efficiency, reduce transit delays, and ensure seamless cargo flow across key hinterland markets.
Reinforcing Mundra’s Position as a Multimodal Leader
APSEZ highlighted that this strategic enhancement further cements Mundra Port’s role as a high-performance multimodal logistics hub. With faster cargo movement, improved inland connections, and optimized train operations, customers and supply chain partners can expect smoother, more reliable services.
A Step Toward Integrated Logistics Excellence
The commissioning of Bundle–II, Line 1, is aligned with APSEZ’s broader vision of building robust, integrated logistics infrastructure that enables end-to-end supply chain solutions. By continuously upgrading rail, road, and port capabilities, the company aims to deliver a world-class logistics experience that matches global standards and supports India’s expanding trade ecosystem.
With this milestone, APSEZ reaffirms its commitment to creating future-ready logistics corridors and strengthening Mundra’s position as a pivotal gateway for international and domestic trade.
