Adani Ports, others in race to set up Greater Noida Logistics Park

In a significant step towards enhancing Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and logistics infrastructure, three Gujarat-based companies Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, Super Handlers, and Empezar Logistics are in the race to develop a sprawling 174-acre multimodal logistics park in Greater Noida. With a proposed investment of at least ₹1,200 crore, the project promises to be a game-changer for the logistics and warehousing sector in the region.
Strategic Location, Long-Term Vision
The proposed logistics park is located in Sector Kappa II, Greater Noida, a strategically important zone with proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport. It also offers seamless connectivity to the eastern and western Dedicated Freight Corridors, alongside its nearness to the CONCOR-operated dry port, a key hub for container storage and processing.
This location is not only prime for logistics operations but also reflects a forward-looking approach in sync with the Greater Noida Master Plan 2041.
Scope of the Project
Planned on 174.1 acres of contiguous land, the logistics park will feature:
Cargo handling yards
State-of-the-art warehousing facilities
A skill development centre
Comprehensive logistics services for cargo terminal operations
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) had invited bids for a 90-year lease of the land, with the allocation to be finalized through a multi-tiered approval process involving a screening committee and an allotment committee.
Job Creation and Economic Boost
According to Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI, and Investment Promotion, the project is expected to generate at least 5,000 direct jobs. He stated that the proposals are currently under review, and a decision will be taken soon.
Gupta also emphasized that this initiative is part of the state’s broader push to develop industrial infrastructure across UP and enhance the ease of doing business.
Policy Support and Investment Incentives
The logistics park aligns with the recently announced Uttar Pradesh Multi-Modal Logistics Park Policy 2024, which offers several incentives to investors. The policy aims to promote integrated logistics infrastructure and attract large-scale investments by offering a business-friendly environment.
Industry Outlook and Market Trends
Industry analysts predict a buoyant warehousing leasing market in 2025, driven by increasing demand from:
E-commerce platforms
Third-party logistics (3PL) providers
FMCG companies
Retail chains
With institutional capital flowing into the sector, developers are ramping up supply in peripheral areas of major metropolitan regions, such as Greater Noida. The emphasis is on compliant and efficient warehousing stock to meet rising demand for quality logistics infrastructure.
Conclusion
The race to develop the Greater Noida multimodal logistics park marks a pivotal moment in North India’s logistics evolution. With strong contenders like Adani Ports and a robust state-backed policy framework, this project could set new benchmarks in cargo handling, job creation, and sustainable industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.
As Greater Noida strengthens its position as a logistics and warehousing hub, the park could become a cornerstone of India's next-generation supply chain ecosystem.
