VOC Port sets record handling 24 windmill blades in a single shift

VOC Port has set a remarkable milestone in renewable energy logistics by successfully handling 24 windmill blades in a single shift, the highest number ever managed at the port in one operation. This achievement underscores the port’s operational excellence and its growing contribution to India’s renewable energy sector.
The massive blades, each measuring 59.18 metres, were loaded onto the vessel MV BBC Santiago. The consignment was shipped by Vestas, a global leader in wind energy solutions, with Marcons Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. serving as the vessel agent and Pearl Shipping & Chartering as the stevedores.
This record-setting operation demonstrates the port’s ability to manage complex and large-scale consignments with precision and efficiency. By achieving this feat, VOC Port has reinforced its position as a leading hub for windmill blade exports, supporting India’s ambitious renewable energy goals.
With the demand for wind power infrastructure continuing to grow worldwide, the port’s success in handling oversized cargo efficiently highlights its role as a crucial gateway for global green energy logistics. This benchmark not only reflects VOC Port’s technical capabilities but also its commitment to advancing India’s sustainable future.
