PM Modi says need to create technology, start-up hubs in Bihar ‘People won't forget jungle raj for 100 years’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed an event in poll-bound Bihar, emphasizing the importance of building technology and start-up hubs within the state to ensure that the youth no longer need to migrate in search of employment. Speaking via audio conferencing at the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot: Yuva Samvaad” event, PM Modi also took a sharp dig at the opposition, calling them the “lath bandhan” an alliance of criminals while asserting that the people of Bihar will not forget the era of “jungle raj” for the next hundred years.
‘Jungle Raj’ and the Need for Progress
Slamming the RJD-Congress alliance, PM Modi said, “People will not forget for another 100 years 'Jungle Raj' in Bihar, no matter how much the Opposition tries to hide their misdeeds.” He praised Nitish Kumar and the NDA government for their efforts in establishing law and order and steering Bihar out of the dark era of misgovernance. Modi added that Bihar has made significant progress in eradicating Naxalism and Maoist terrorism, allowing its citizens to proudly identify as Biharis.
‘Lath Bandhan’, Not ‘Gathbandhan’
Taking aim at the opposition, Modi said that the current alliance in Bihar is not a ‘gathbandhan’ (coalition) but a ‘lath bandhan’ (an alliance of criminals). “Opposition leaders only know how to fight among themselves and guard their self-interest. All their leaders from Delhi and Bihar are out on bail,” he said. Modi’s remarks came on the same day that Tejashwi Yadav was announced as the Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
Focus on Youth and Women Empowerment
Addressing the state’s youth, PM Modi encouraged BJP workers to engage with first-time voters and educate them about the power of their vote. He urged them to work together across NDA parties to spread awareness about government schemes that are transforming Bihar.
He also called upon the youth to organize community programmes where elderly citizens share their experiences of the jungle raj era with the younger generation to remind them of the progress Bihar has made under NDA rule.
In his speech, the Prime Minister underscored the need to develop technology and start-up ecosystems within Bihar, ensuring that young people can find sustainable livelihoods within their home state rather than migrating elsewhere.
Empowering Bihar’s Women
PM Modi also highlighted the success of women in Bihar, noting that they have demonstrated immense talent despite the past hardships. He directed BJP workers to prepare a list of women who have not yet benefited from the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana and ensure their inclusion.
He stated, “A new era in women’s empowerment will begin in Bihar on November 14 when NDA is voted back to power.” Modi further shared that over 12 million women have already received ₹10,000 each in their bank accounts to start small businesses, empowering them economically and socially.
Bihar Election Schedule
The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be announced on November 14, a date PM Modi linked to the beginning of a new phase of empowerment and development for Bihar.
Through his address, the Prime Minister reiterated the NDA’s commitment to transforming Bihar into a hub of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, marking a decisive shift from the shadows of the past to a future driven by growth, empowerment, and opportunity.
