OnePlus is gearing up to expand its premium smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the OnePlus 15R, scheduled for December 17. Ahead of the official unveiling, several details related to pricing, design, and specifications have surfaced online, giving a clear picture of what buyers can expect from the upcoming device.

Launch Timeline and Design Inspiration

The OnePlus 15R is set to debut in India on December 17. According to industry reports, the smartphone draws its base design from the OnePlus Ace 6T, which recently launched in China. However, OnePlus has reportedly made market-specific refinements to better suit Indian consumers, positioning the 15R as a strong contender in the premium segment.

Expected Price in India and Storage Variants

As per a leak shared by tipster Paras Guglani, the OnePlus 15R is likely to be offered in two storage configurations.
The base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage is expected to be priced between ₹45,999 and ₹46,999.
A higher-end version featuring 12GB RAM and 512GB storage could be priced at around ₹51,999.

These prices are said to be exclusive of bank offers. Buyers may benefit from additional discounts ranging between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000 through select payment options during the initial sale period. The device is also expected to launch in two colour options: Charcoal Black and Minty Green.

Performance and Display Highlights

OnePlus has officially confirmed that the OnePlus 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, making it one of the first smartphones globally to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. The company revealed that it has collaborated with Qualcomm for nearly two years to optimise performance and power efficiency.

On the front, the smartphone is expected to sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. OnePlus has also confirmed a 165Hz refresh rate, similar to the standard seen on the OnePlus 15, aimed at delivering smoother scrolling and a responsive gaming experience.

Battery, Charging, and Camera Setup

Battery capacity is one of the standout features of the OnePlus 15R. The device is confirmed to pack a massive 7,400 mAh battery, which is larger than both the previous OnePlus 14R and the standard OnePlus 15. Reports suggest support for 80W fast charging, although official charging speed details are yet to be announced.

In terms of photography, the OnePlus 15R is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, a 32MP front camera is likely to be included.

Durability and Protection Ratings

Leaks also indicate that the OnePlus 15R could come with multiple protection ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. If confirmed, these ratings would ensure resistance against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets, making the device more durable for everyday and rugged use.
