Delta Ports sets new Iron Ore benchmark at Mormugao Port

Record-Breaking Performance at Berth No. X

In a significant milestone for India’s maritime sector, Delta Ports Mormugao Terminal Private Ltd (DMTPL), the Public-Private Partnership operator at Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), Goa, has set a new benchmark in iron ore handling. On June 16, DMTPL successfully loaded 30,581 metric tonnes of iron ore pellets onto the vessel MV Vishva Chetna in just 24 hours, establishing a record for the highest single-day loading of iron ore pellets ever recorded at the port.

A Milestone in Efficiency and Coordination

The vessel, berthed at Berth No. X, is on course to load a total of 67,500 metric tonnes of iron ore pellets destined for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Private Limited (MRPPL). This impressive feat was made possible through seamless coordination and dedicated efforts between DMTPL and MPA teams, showcasing their shared commitment to operational excellence.

Leadership Commends the Achievement

Dr. N. Vimodkumar, Chairman of MPA, applauded the joint achievement, describing it as a powerful testament to the port’s evolving capabilities. He emphasized that such milestones reflect Mormugao Port’s expanding importance as a strategic hub for India’s iron ore exports.

Setting New Standards in Cargo Handling

This performance not only sets a new benchmark in cargo loading efficiency at Mormugao Port but also highlights the terminal's readiness to accommodate the growing demands of global trade logistics. The record reaffirms the port's status as a dynamic player in India's maritime infrastructure.
