Ayodhya Ram Mandir flag hoisting LIVE: PM Modi reaches Saptmandir ahead of flag hoisting

The holy city of Ayodhya witnessed another historic moment today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat offered prayers at the Ram Darbar ahead of the much-awaited flag-hoisting ceremony at the iconic Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Nearly 7,000 guests from across Uttar Pradesh have been invited for this grand spiritual event, which many are calling the symbolic “second pran pratishtha” of the Ram Mandir.

The Prime Minister is set to hoist a magnificent saffron flag atop the 191-foot-high shikhar of the temple. The ceremonial flag, measuring 10 feet in height and 22 feet in length, carries deep spiritual symbolism with the image of a radiant Sun, the sacred Om, and the revered Kovidara tree. Following the Dhwajarohan ceremony, PM Modi will address the gathering in Ayodhya, marking another milestone in the completion of the Ram Mandir.

Ayodhya is filled with devotion as thousands of pilgrims gathered early in the morning for darshan, offering prayers and witnessing the historic rituals. The beautifully illuminated temple complex stands as a symbol of faith, unity, and centuries-old cultural heritage.

Architecture Inspired by India’s Temple Traditions
The saffron flag will be placed atop a shikhar constructed in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style. In contrast, the massive 800-metre Parkota surrounding the temple has been uniquely designed following South Indian temple architecture principles. This fusion reflects the unity of India’s diverse cultural heritage.

Sequence of Rituals and Timeline
At around 11 am, PM Modi will visit Mata Annapurna Mandir. He will then proceed for darshan and pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah, followed by darshan at the Ram Lalla Garbha Grah.
At approximately 12 noon, the Prime Minister will hoist the saffron flag on the temple shikhar in a ceremony conducted with full Vedic traditions. Following the ceremony, he will address thousands gathered at the venue.

108 Acharyas Lead the Rituals
All rituals for this auspicious occasion are being conducted by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India, under the guidance of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. Their presence ensures strict adherence to ancient Vedic procedures, making the event spiritually significant.

Completion of the Ram Mandir Structure
The placement of the triangular saffron flag marks the formal completion of the Ram Mandir structure, following the historic consecration of Ram Lalla in the garbhagriha in January 2024. This moment is being celebrated nationwide as a cultural and religious milestone.

Tightened Security Across Ayodhya
With dignitaries, guests, and thousands of devotees arriving for the ceremony, security in Ayodhya has been significantly heightened. A total of 6,970 personnel, including ATS commandos, NSG snipers, cyber teams and technical units, have been deployed to ensure smooth and safe proceedings.

Devotees Gather for Darshan
Since morning, devotees from various regions have reached the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple to witness the darshan of Lord Ram and participate in the auspicious celebrations. The spiritual energy in Ayodhya has elevated as chants of Jai Shri Ram echo across the city.
