Andhra Pradesh to set up logistics infrastructure corporation
Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for a major transformation in its logistics ecosystem with the establishment of the Andhra Pradesh Logistics Infrastructure Corporation (AP-LinC). Cleared by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the new entity is poised to become the state’s central force for planning, strengthening, and modernising logistics networks.
A Dedicated Nodal Agency for Statewide Logistics Development
According to an official release, AP-LinC will serve as the state’s nodal agency for logistics infrastructure development. Its primary mission is to reduce logistics costs across Andhra Pradesh a crucial step toward boosting competitiveness for industries, exporters, and agricultural producers. By acting as a single coordinating body, the corporation aims to streamline decision-making, upgrade outdated systems, and accelerate the development of critical logistics assets.
Integration Across Ports, Airports, Roads & Cold Chains
One of AP-LinC’s biggest advantages lies in its ability to integrate multiple modes of transport. The corporation will bring cohesion across ports, airports, national and state highways, inland waterways, industrial corridors, and cold-chain networks. Improved integration will help reduce transit delays, increase cargo-handling efficiency, and ensure seamless end-to-end movement of goods strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as a logistics hub.
A Government Holding Company to Attract Large Investments
Once a managing director is appointed, AP-LinC will begin functioning as a government holding company. According to the Chief Minister, the corporation will focus on drawing large-scale private and foreign investments into the logistics sector. This includes new warehousing zones, multimodal logistics parks, smart transport corridors, and digital logistics solutions aligned with global best practices.
Statewide Monitoring & District-Level Growth Cells
In addition to infrastructure development, AP-LinC will take on the responsibility of monitoring logistics performance across the state. As part of the framework, district-level logistics cells will be established to drive local-level development. These cells will be particularly important for identifying challenges in remote and underserved regions, ensuring that infrastructure growth reaches every corner of the state.
A Significant Step Toward a More Competitive Andhra Pradesh
AP-LinC marks a visionary move toward building a cost-efficient, modern, and globally competitive logistics ecosystem. With integrated planning, grassroots-level focus, and investment-driven expansion, Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself to emerge as a top destination for manufacturing, trade, and exports in the coming years.
