Full-Day Fast on Mondays

At the heart of Akshay’s fitness journey is discipline. He revealed that every Monday, he observes a full-day fast. “Sunday is the last meal, and then after that, Monday is a full-day fast till Tuesday morning,” he said.

Fasting, according to health experts, has multiple benefits. It improves metabolism, sleep quality, digestion, and even mental focus. Moreover, it acts as a natural detox for the body, giving the system much-needed rest and recovery.

Dinner by 6:30 PM

Another non-negotiable rule in Akshay’s lifestyle is eating dinner early, by 6:30 PM. Explaining the logic, he said, “By the time you get up, it is time for your stomach to relax. But when we get up, we eat our breakfast, and again the poor stomach is working very hard.”

Akshay believes that most health problems stem from an unhealthy stomach. By finishing dinner early, the body gets ample time to digest food before sleep. This habit ensures better digestion, reduced risk of lifestyle diseases, and quality rest at night.

No Heavy Weightlifting – Only Functional Workouts

Unlike most fitness enthusiasts who spend hours lifting weights, Akshay follows a more natural fitness routine. His workouts include rock climbing, body-weight exercises, and outdoor sports. He calls his gym setup “for monkeys,” designed for climbing and hanging rather than lifting heavy weights.

He avoids crash diets, processed foods, and heavy lifting, focusing instead on functional training that builds stamina, agility, and overall strength.
