AD Ports Group and KTZ Express launch GulfLink JV to transform logistics

In a strategic move set to reshape trade routes across Central Asia and beyond, AD Ports Group has officially launched operations of its Central Asian logistics joint venture, GulfLink, in collaboration with KTZ Express, the freight subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ). This partnership marks a pivotal step toward modernizing and diversifying international logistics across the region.

A Bold Step for Regional Integration

Jointly owned by AD Ports Group (51%) and KTZ Express JSC (49%), GulfLink is poised to unlock new levels of connectivity and efficiency in global supply chains. This multimodal transport and logistics venture is more than a business initiative it's a strategic bridge aimed at supporting and facilitating robust trade flows between Central Asia, Pakistan, Türkiye, the Arabian Gulf, and the Indian subcontinent.

Boosting Kazakhstan’s Global Logistics Role

At the heart of this initiative lies Kazakhstan, a nation where 70% of freight is transported by rail. Leveraging KTZ’s vast 16,000 km rail network, GulfLink aims to position Kazakhstan as a logistics powerhouse in the global supply chain. As one of Central Asia’s largest and most strategic state-owned enterprises, KTZ plays a central role in shaping trade flows across Eurasia.

Reviving the Middle Corridor

One of GulfLink’s most ambitious goals is to revive the Middle Corridor a vital East-West trade route that connects China and Europe through Central Asia. With mounting global interest in alternative and resilient logistics corridors, this initiative is well-positioned to reduce reliance on traditional routes and inject flexibility into international trade patterns.

Major Investments and Infrastructure Development

To support this vision, AD Ports Group has pledged over $775 million in strategic investments in Kazakhstan. Among its key infrastructure projects are a grain terminal and a multipurpose terminal at Kuryk Port, which will serve as vital gateways for regional exports and imports.

Connecting Strategic Corridors

GulfLink is not an isolated development it is a critical part of AD Ports Group’s broader regional strategy. With growing assets in Türkiye and Pakistan, the group is building a comprehensive logistics ecosystem that bridges maritime and inland transport capabilities. This integrated approach ensures that GulfLink can offer resilient and efficient supply chains for both regional and global customers.

Conclusion: A New Era in Global Trade

With the launch of GulfLink, AD Ports Group and KTZ Express are redefining the logistics map of Central Asia. By strengthening trade corridors and investing in future-ready infrastructure, they are setting the stage for a more connected, efficient, and diversified global logistics landscape.

As emerging markets seek stronger trade resilience, GulfLink stands as a beacon of innovation, cooperation, and regional transformation.
